Well the Democrats said they would do it and they did. 222 co signers joined Rep. Joaquin Castro’s (D-Texas) resolution on Friday that would block President Trump‘s emergency declaration on the southern border. The Presidents National Emergency resolution would free up 8 billion for the building of the wall. This move is telling the President that they do not recognize the separation of powers. Wonder why I use the term separation of powers? This from Nancy Pelosi.
“President Trump’s emergency declaration proclamation undermines the separation of powers and Congress’s power of the purse, a power exclusively reserved by the text of the Constitution to the first branch of government, the Legislative branch, a branch co-equal to the Executive,” she wrote in a letter to members on Wednesday. So congress is telling the President that he’s not allowed to declare an emergency, and he’s ignoring separation of powers?
Coequal does not mean you pass silly resolutions because the President uses his Presidential powers. Now this will pass the House. Some even think it will pass the Senate. But there is no way that the Democrats can muster enough votes to override a Presidential veto. So why are they doing this?
In closing, this is nothing more than a move to embarrass the President. The American people are not stupid. They will see through this.
What say you?

I have been writing on and off the past 46 years. First piece I ever wrote was my high school underground newspaper. A father of two twenty somethings. Happily married and presently living in Ohio.
