My Two Cents. Wishes for 2019

So it’s a new year.  A year older and hopefully wiser.  But 2019 will be a year full of challenges.  A House controlled by Democrats.  A senate with a larger Republican majority.  A special prosecutor still out there.  A field of 40 Democrats wanting to be President.  Progressives now a majority on the Democrat side of the house.  And it’s only January 1st.

Look for another politically charged year.  Everyone is talking about the Democrat field for 2020.  I mentioned earlier that 40 are interested.  Elizabeth Warren is the first out of the gate.  Joe Biden says he’s the man.  And Bernie Sanders says what about me?  The Hill has a list of 10 that they think will be the one.

Beto, Bernie, Joe, Elizabeth, Kamala, Sherrod, Cory, Amy, Michael, and Kirsten.  Mostly white ( eight of the  ten ) and  that’s the first string.   Here’s the second string again according to The Hill.  Former New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu, former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, activist Tom Steyer, Rep. Joe Kennedy III. (D-Mass.), former San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro, South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper, Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.), Rep. John Delaney (D-Md.)  What many will be asking is how will a guy how couldn’t win outside of his district as Senator be the torch bearer for the Democrat party in 2020.

And what will the market bring us in 2019?  More of a roller coaster ride I’m afraid.  This hatred for Trump has never been seen, at least not in my lifetime.  Obama wasn’t well liked by many but this never stopped business as usual.  Now with a improved economy we should have seen record breaking numbers.  What do you think may have happened?

The Fed will again raise rates but not as often.  Some are calling for growth of about 2-2.5%.  Wage growth again will be over 3% and finally what happens with China and Tariffs, can make or break things.

In closing my thoughts are that we will not see a strong Democrat contender and China has no choice but to give in.  The special prosecutor?  A story for another day.  What say you?
