When someone speaks of Religious bigots, how many think of United States Senators? Well it looks as if there just might be two. Both females from blue states. And they are being called out. By another Democrat. Let me explain. It seems as if some Liberal/ Progressive office holders are now using Religion as a means test for judges. This from FOX.
There are a disturbing number of Democrat lawmakers who believe Christians must renounce their religious beliefs and affiliations in religious-based organizations if they want to hold public office. The latest victim of this blatant religious bigotry is Brian Buescher, President Trump’s nominee for the U.S. District Court in Nebraska. Buescher came under attack by Sens. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., and Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, for his membership in the Knights of Columbus, a revered and highly-respected Catholic charitable organization.
Both had asked Judge Buescher if he would end his membership in the Knights if appointed to the seat. So what’s next? If a member in the YMCA or YWCA, would that be automatic disqualification? Where does this stop? But it wasn’t just the media who’s questioning the Senators bigotry.
I found this in the Washington Post.
Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, a potential 2020 White House contender, is accusing some of her fellow Democrats of “religious bigotry” in their questioning of one of President Trump’s judicial nominees. “While I oppose the nomination of Brian Buescher to the U.S. District Court in Nebraska, I stand strongly against those who are fomenting religious bigotry, citing as disqualifiers Buescher’s Catholicism and his affiliation with the Knights of Columbus.”
I find this quote of Rep. Gabbard’s most telling. If Buescher is “unqualified” because of his Catholicism and affiliation with the Knights of Columbus, then President John F. Kennedy, and the ‘liberal lion of the Senate’ Ted Kennedy would have been “unqualified” for the same reasons.
In closing, I find it unbelievable that the two Senators would go that low to try and disqualify someone. We now see why the base of the Democrat party is shrinking and they are embracing illegals.
What say you?
